Yeah. I’ve heard all about the “exercise makes you feel good” thing. When you exercise — Weight Watchers call it “moving” — it’s supposed to release endorphins in your brain which, in turn, makes you feel good.
Now, here’s my big question: when? The only thing I feel after a ½ hour on the treadmill is sore and tired and not the “good kind” of sore and tired. Combine that with a treadmill that seems to smell like something is burning after the 15 minute mark and it really doesn’t make for something I look forward to every day.
Some people will say that I really need to make it a habit. Exercise every day. Get that 30 minutes of aerobic workout going and then the endorphins will start pumping. Others will say that I need to mix up the aerobic stuff with the strength stuff (read: weight lifting) and not only will I feel great but I’ll lose weight…inches…the whole nine yards. I guess that’s why some of the people I know that used to be real porkers are now marathon runners or training for a triathlon.
Not me.
I don’t care to run or any of that stuff. I do want to lose weight and inches. I would like to “feel good”, too. But, I don’t seem to be able to keep up with the routine, create the habit, whatever. The really bad part is I can’t cook and my wife can’t cook so we eat a lot of shit all the time or eat out.
Hypnosis? Personal Trainer? God knows Weight Watchers and a variety of other diets haven’t worked.
